FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
HOW DOES CRYOTHERAPY WORK?
Cryotherapy treatment utilizes extreme cold gas jet to freeze skin lesions. As a consequence, the water inside the cells freeze, expands and ruptures the membrane of the cells. The cells that comprise the lesion are eliminated over time to allow new healthy tissue to grow in the same area.
WHAT CAN YOU TREAT WITH CRYOTHERAPY?
Here is a list of commonly treatable skin lesions. Only stable lesions that are not evolving over time are suitable for cryotherapy treatments. New skin growths (especially moles) could be potentially malignant and need to be evaluated by a dermatologist first. You must consult with a certified physician to make sure your new mole is a non-malignant growth before removing it with cryotherapy. Please ensure you have received confirmation from your doctor. * We do not treat genital warts.

HOW LONG DO RESULTS LAST?
Generally the change is permanent however, it is possible that certain skin conditions may regrow and return over time, which cannot necessarily be predicted.
HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?
Depending on the size and thickness of the lesion, some areas may require 2-3 treatments to successfully remove. We will attempt to remove most lesions in one treatment.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING THE TREATMENT?
An in depth consultation where expectations and the treatment process are discussed. The skin will be cleansed and prepped. The actual freezing process during the procedure takes only seconds. For your appointment we allow enough time to complete paperwork, take before/after photos, answer your questions, complete the procedure and provide and review aftercare.
WHAT WILL THE FINAL RESULT LOOK LIKE?
Once fully healed in 3-4 weeks, the treated area should appear as clear and healthy, flesh colored skin. Some lesion areas may be hyper or hypo pigmented for several weeks to possibly months, depending on your skin's response to treatment; this will be discussed further during your appointment.

- Chemical peels, laser treatments, microdermabrasion (4 weeks in advance)
- Discontinue the use of retinol and AHA products to the area (1 week in advance)
WHAT SHOULD I DO AFTER THE PROCEDURE?

Detailed aftercare instructions will be given on the day of the appointment, as well as a specific healing ointment.
